Chris van Dam - CHAIRMAN OF THE PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE OF INQUIRY

Biography
Van Dam grew up in a Protestant Christian (Reformed) family in the Alblasserwaard and later Apeldoorn and moved to The Hague in 1985 where he held positions as inspector and chief inspector in the investigation. In 1997, Van Dam made the switch to the Public Prosecutor (OM) where he became a prosecutor.
His uncle Gerrit van Dam (Former Member of Parliament between 1971-1986) urged him to run for election. On behalf of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), from March 23, 2017 to March 31, 2021, he was a member of the House of Representatives of the States General. Before that, he worked for twelve years at Haaglanden Police and he was a prosecutor and deputy chief officer at the Public Prosecutor for nineteen years in Amsterdam country The Hague. Van Dam was trained to master of law.
In addition to his work, Van Dam has been socially involved, for example in the administration of his church, as chairman of one of the largest neighborhood associations in The Hague and as chairman of a Exodus house. Since 2021, he has been chairman of STEK (City and Church), the diaconal organization of the Protestant Church in The Hague.
In September 2022, it was announced that Van Dam would be on October 1, 2022. trainee judge became in the criminal sector of the Rotterdam District Court. He has terminated his party membership in the CDA.[1]
