EVA GONZALEZ PEREZ TOP WOMAN OF 2021 FOR EXPOSING THE BENEFITS AFFAIR
Gonzálex Pérez works at the law firm Trias in Helmond and assists dozens of victims of the benefits affair. In this affair, thousands of parents were unfairly labeled as fraudsters by the government and thus ended up in debt. The lawyer was also interviewed as a witness under oath by a committee of MPs that investigated the benefits affair.
Chief editor Marianne Verhoeven van OPZIJ praises Gonzálex Pérez for her determination. According to Verhoeven, the Top Woman of 2021 should be someone who, no matter what is expected of her, “must have thrown a big stone into a social pond that does not just result from her work”.
Gonzálex Pérez has already won awards for her role in unveiling the benefits affair. In October, for example, she received the approval of the National Client Council, which stands up for the interests of people who receive benefits.
