'More childcare benefits stopped without evidence'
The tax authorities not only unfairly stopped childcare surcharges at a childcare agency in Eindhoven, it also happened in Rotterdam. allegiance and RTL News write based on a source that another 120 parents were affected here.
The media write that childminding agency Florien was suspected of fraud with benefits. Without providing further evidence, the benefits of dozens of families were therefore stopped. Earlier it was announced that around 300 parents were affected in Eindhoven.
Ultimately, the tax authorities themselves also concluded that there was no fraud. That outcome followed one year after the allowance was stopped. The tax authorities have “the intention to accommodate those people”.
'Pitch and feathers'
Secretary of State Snel previously said that he could not rule out errors in other matters made by the Combiteam Approach Facilitators (CAF). In July, he announced an investigation. The 170 CAF cases are being reviewed. The research must be completed by the end of the year.
According to Trouw and RTL News the CAF team did everything in its power to substantiate allegations of fraud, such as withholding documents. Officials described themselves as “the duo of pitch and feathers”.
A source at the Ministry of Finance speaks of a structural approach. According to Trouw, reconstruction of the state of affairs is difficult because little has been documented.
