NRC: Methode-Laurentien is at a standstill and has not been scaled up according to plan

The (Equal) worthy Recovery Foundation, set up by Princess Laurentien for affected benefit parents, is unable to implement the “scale-up plan” that has been agreed with the Ministry of Finance. This reports NRC, which has the confidential plan in its hands.

New victims are currently unable to register with the foundation. The more than 2,000 people who signed up earlier this year are also still waiting for help.

According to the scale-up plan, the first three hundred should have received a calculation of their damage before the end of September. That would not have happened yet.

Website not finished

According to the foundation, the stoppage is the ministry's fault. For example, people must sign up via a government website, which is not finished yet. However, a ministry spokesperson told the newspaper that as long as the website is not there yet, people can report to organizations such as the foundation.

In order to be able to supervise the new victims, many new volunteers are also needed to write down the victims' stories for review by a claims analyst. The foundation wants to attract four hundred to five hundred new volunteers each week. In September, only a quarter of that number registered.

Conflict

It was already running a conflict between the Ministry of Finance and the foundation about the foundation's first trial. In July, the ministry and foundation created agreements on new conditions about dealing with the damage suffered by the victims of the benefits affair. After that, the foundation was able to scale up and take further steps in the files of the people who had already registered in the trial phase.

Princess Laurentien

Princess Laurentien quit her work as chairman of the foundation at the end of August after the fuss about the foundation's method of compensating parents. There were also reports of the princess's alleged transgressive behavior towards officials of the Ministry of Finance.

It is still unclear when new victims will be able to apply. The ministry has announced that this is expected to be “later this year”, writes the newspaper.
