Response from the (Equal) worthy Recovery Foundation to NOS reports

Updated: 1 day ago

Almere, May 14, 2024

The (Equal) worthy Recovery Foundation (SGH) regrets that an anonymous official from the Ministry of Finance's Implementation Organization for Recovery Benefits (UHT) is trying to portray SGH's independent recovery approach through the media. No one, primarily affected families, benefits from more unrest surrounding the childcare allowance affair, which has been going on for more than five years.

SGH has no access to the leaked internal note and does not recognize the statements and allegations. In addition, the ministry's civil law route pays similar damages to SGH.

Implementation costs

Financial explainability, both to affected families and taxpayers, is crucial for SGH. Our implementation costs per assisted parent are a fraction of those of the government's two recovery routes*:

  • Civil law route SGH: 2760 — 4350 euro
  • Civil law route Ministry of Finance: 7000 euro
  • Administrative law route CWS/UHT: 36 000 euro

Human and equitable recovery route

The unilateral coverage of the NOS does not do justice to the human and equitable recovery route, which currently facilitates more than 2300 parents in their emotional and financial recovery process. To this end, SGH activates and trains thousands of fellow Dutch people who, as volunteers, help affected parents write down their Fact Report.

As a result, the Netherlands and the government are only now really confronted with the harrowing truth of the many suffering and injuries that have been caused to people for years. The amounts calculated by independent claims analysts for the material and immaterial damage to a parent and the family are based on current amounts in Dutch legal practice.

Accelerated approach via a collective SGH has set up a professional organization in six months and is implementing the SGH recovery route. We work with the best people and organizations in the Netherlands in personal injury, accountancy, advocacy and organizational science. Often voluntarily or at a social rate, they use their knowledge, expertise and manpower to accelerate the completion of this unprecedented conflict for the State and the whole of the Netherlands. So that parents and families can get on with their lives.

From our neutrality, we also hope to contribute to the reconstruction of trust between residents and the government.
